How To Check The Brakes On Trailers?

How To Check The Brakes On Trailers?

We stress on checking the brakes regularly. In this article, we talk about how to inspect them. Based on the long-term experiences regarding caliper repair kits for tucks, ISP Auto is capable of transfering its skills into practices. As ISP Auto sees, checking air brake system in the trucks has been poorly managed and ISP Auto would like to meet these needs and share all its experiences with the customers. ISP Auto’s experiences has been drifting into practices such as checking air brake components, caliper repair kits replacement etc.

Checking air brake system and replacing caliper repair kits should be performed by skilled staff and essential to reaching road safety. To secure complete roady safety, as far as ISP Auto’s view is that all the parts such as workshop staff, drivers and owners of the trucks must work together. ISP Auto has the satisfaction of ensuring that all its customers have access to reliable knowledge about caliper repair kits and air brake components.

According to “Commercial Vehicle Safety Allience”, nearly 1600 vehicles have been put out of service for brake violations. This figure shows us the importance of brake inspections. Even though brake inspection should be made by skilled staff, the drivers also may have some tips in oder to be eligible for examination.

Daily inspection of your trailer should be performed by completing a walk around. Both pre-trip and post-trip inspections may be done properly. Pre-trip inspection should not be omitted.

Firstly, the truck tires may be chocked and then the truck should be cranked in order to make the air pressure to perform at normal operating range. Push the brake pedal with you foot and wait a couple of second in order to make the truck to position agains the chock. Upon these, press and hold the brake pedal down as much as you can do for whole minute. Observe both the air gauege and pressure loss. Pressure loss should not be more than the 3 psi throughout this test.

When the brake pedal is pumped, the air driven out of the systmen is heard. It is important to watch out the primary and secondary air gauges on the dash. When the aire pressure diminishes, the needles on the gauges drop. While the air pressure comes down below the safe threshold, a signaling device sounds and a device begins to blink for indication. Pumping the brake pedal should be maintaned. The needle on the primary gauge drops to roughly 90 psi, the red trailer brake button should appear suddenly. It should be kept pumping the pedal. While the pressure keeps droping, the yellow tractor button comes into view. It should be allowe the air system to maintain normal air pressure again and then arrange the parking brakes. The transmission may not be enagaged at any point througout the tests however allocate a period in order to be confident that the truck is out of gear position.
